This painting was a turning point in the work of the artist.. Up until 2000 his work was strictly geometric in execution and favoured form over content. This work was completed towards the end of 2001 and marked a new interest in abstraction with narrative.

Thematically, the work concerns itself with optimism, expectancy and rejuvenation.

Ce tableau représente un tournant dans le travail de l'artiste qui, jusqu'en 2000, était strictement géométrique dans sa réalization et privilégiait la forme sur le contenu. Ce tableau, terminé vers la fin 2001, fut la marque du nouvel intérêt vers l'abstraction narrative.
